Stephanie Lees was educated at York University receiving a BA in 1996 with a concentration in Fine Arts. Stephanie went on to work as a stylist in Toronto’s film and television industry. In 2002 Stephanie took over the midcentury furniture boutique Eye Spy in Toronto’s hip Leslieville neighbourhood and set about transforming the business into a full-on lifestyle brand. In addition to furniture Stephanie established lighting, house-wares and soft goods - sourcing products from New York, San Francisco, Europe and Japan.
Recently Stephanie has shifted her focus to residential design and decoration picking up many clients along the way. Her signature style is a warm, understated mix of the contemporary and the timeless with a hit of whimsy. Stephanie’s projects demonstrate her willingness to work with her clients’ needs - informing their choices with her sensibility without commandeering their personal sense of style.
Meanwhile Stephanie has transformed her Eye Spy retail brand into Studio Eye Spy - an atelier that functions as both a boutique retail space carrying some of her most popular lines and as her design headquarters. A line of Eye Spy furnishings and soft goods is also in the works.
